Dave Friedman’s workshop is located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and for over 40 years, David Friedman’s customers have safely shipped their silver to him from every state in the country (and Canada) for repair and restoration. In return, they receive their silver back, meticulously restored. Here are some basic tips for safely shipping your silver. We do appreciate a ‘heads-up’ email or phone call before you ship to us.

What to include in the box:
Please include your full name, return address, phone number(s) and email address. We also request that you enclose a description of your items and any instructions.
Recommended shipping services:
United States Postal Service (Priority Mail), U.P.S. or FedEx. For large items, use a pack and ship service.
Delivery confirmation:
“SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION” or “SIGNATURE REQUIRED” ensures that the postal carrier will hand your package directly to me and request my signature for added security.
Delivery insurance:
You may want to insure your package if you are shipping valuable or irreplaceable items. Insurance is generally inexpensive. If you would like your order insured for return shipping, please include amount and instructions with your packing slip.
How to pack your order:
Please pack your order in a sturdy box. Delicate items should be wrapped in bubble wrap. Please fill the box with packing peanuts. Your local shipping store can assist you with packing your order.
After we receive your order:
After your order arrives, the box will be opened and all items inspected. David will write out a detailed estimate and contact you for your approval before starting any work.
Payment:
We gladly will accept your personal check.
Shipping Your Order Back to You
Return shipping:
Customers are charged for return shipping. Customers requesting SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION upon return delivery MUST include instructions with the packing slip. If no request is notated, Friedman Silversmiths MAY or MAY NOT, at their discretion, use a signature confirmation delivery with your order.
